Perpetuum Jazzile – Africa

One of my favorite songs, that sends a thrilling raindrop-like shiver around my neck, gets me tapping my toes and sets me off on my way humming happily, is Toto’s ‘80s rock classic, Africa. I never thought I would see a version of it performed with such thunderous energy and collective spirit as this though! Perpetuum Jazzile are a Slovenian vocal group that use their voices and bodies to do absolutely everything. They don’t need drums, guitars (though I spotted a few air guitars), rain water, or thunder to meticulously bring this rhythmic masterpiece roaring back to life. Enjoy this most infectious and inspiring of anthems celebrating everyone’s favorite continent, as a true testimony to mankind’s co-operative spirit and place in nature.
